Comets, Coyotes and Tigers...Oh my!

This will have to be a fill you in kind of post with a little of this and a little of that and lots of pictures.
Abigail, who is playing rookie softball this year, is on the Comets. They've had two games so far. Abigail didn't get a hit in the first game but singled in the second one. We were all so excited. She has done a great job in the field as well. She is making friends with the girls and we're hoping to see lots of improvement throughout the season.

Joshua just couldn't wait for his first game. He is playing rookie ball and his team is the Coyotes. They finally had a game last night. Joshua was the catcher and did a great job. He got a hit every time he was up to bat. In the end his team did not win but they played a good game. It's so fun to watch all the kids play!

For Opening Day of baseball we had our traditional Overbeek Opening Day. We all wore our Tiger's shirts and we ate hot dogs and cracker jacks. We drank orange soda and finished the evening with ice cream sandwiches. Unfortunately the Tigers have lost their first two games to the Blue Jays...but that doesn't faze us. We're fans through thick and thin. :)

To wrap up I thought I better add Joshua's big announcement. He lost his first tooth last Sunday at church. One of the men was playing with Joshua and his tooth fell out and was lost on the floor. Even though he didn't have the tooth to put under his pillow the mama fairy still came to visit him while he was sleeping.

What fun family traditions for baseball's opening day! Your kids will have great memories. We might have to become Rays' fans down here -- especially since they played so well against the Red Sox tonight.
