Recent Happenings

The annual church pig roast was on Memorial Day. Josiah couldn't wait for the tractor rides. He sat on the tractor and in the trailer for most of the day. He even got to drive, on Mr. Mike's lap that is.

While Josiah was having fun on the tractor Joshua, Abigail and Bob got very involved in the annual water gun fight. Here are all the soaked participants.

More exciting times...Bob thought the kids would enjoy rides around the cul-de-sac on the motorcycle. Joshua LOVED it (oh no!)
Chloe wasn't so sure about it.

Abigail thought it was pretty fun but she didn't want Bob to go too fast, that's my cautious girl.

Abigail had Grace spend the night for her birthday. They had a great time painting nails, putting on make-up and chatting until late at night.

For her birthday lunch with Daddy Abigail chose to go to the Macaroni Grill. She just loves the bread that they give you and the oil to dip it in.

For my Bunny Rabbit

When Abigail was a baby I called her my little Bunny Rabbit. I'm not sure where it came from, it just happened. Sometimes I just shortened it to Bunny. It didn't last although I'm not sure when I stopped calling her that...it all seems so long ago! Especially since this past weekend we celebrated her 7th birthday!!! I can't believe my little Bunny Rabbit is 7 years old! Abigail is quite the young lady now. She did great in school this past year and completed 1st grade on the honor roll. She is reading like a champ and does a great job in math as well. Abigail really enjoys doing art projects and helping me cook. She is very helpful with the other kiddos and has a tender heart. I love you my little Bunny Rabbit!

My New Running Buddies

Recently I got tired of running in circles around Hardin Field, especially since I'm now able to run for an hour, so I hopped in the mama mobile and mapped out a 6 mile course for myself...yes I did say SIX miles! Yeah me! Anyway, part of my course is through a large field and there are tons of prairie dogs running around. Sometimes they startle me because I don't see them and then all of a sudden they are right there. I think they might be laughing at me because I hear them squeaking to each other. You see the best part about running through an empty field filled with prairie dogs is that there aren't that many people around, so when I do my little dance moves while I run no one sees me...except the p.d.'s that is. One day I saw a coyote and I've seen lots of little ground owls too. I tried running at night once but I kept thinking about that coyote I saw the other day and I started to wonder if they were like other dogs and might chase someone who is running??? This did not make me feel good about being in the dark alone, even with my friends the prairie dogs around, I didn't feel safe. When I got home Bob told me that the coyotes would be more afraid of me then I was of them but it didn't make me feel any better. So I guess I won't be running at night again any time soon.
I discovered I could run 6 miles while we were in Arizona. I think the elevation difference helped out a bunch and I just did it. When we got home I decided if I could do it there I could do it here...and I can! What keeps me going you may ask? My trusty i pod. My favorite songs to run to are "Footloose" and "Mambo No. 5". They both have a great beat and provide the perfect pace for me. I usually repeat these songs 2 or 3 times when they come up. It's funny because Bob said that he just runs and the music keeps him going. But I find that I speed up and slow down with the beat of the song that is playing. Oh well, as long as I keep going right?
So what makes me really excited is that I actually feel like I'm a runner now! People keep asking me if I'm going to do a race soon...I don't think so. I can do my 6 miles in about 62 minutes and that's about the maximum time I have to devote to running for now. But maybe someday I'll run with more than just the prairie dogs. :)

K4 Graduation

Today Joshua graduated from K4! His class did a program and Joshua led us all in saying the Pledge of Allegiance, the pledge to the Christian Flag, the pledge to the Bible and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. He did a fabulous job! We're so proud of all his accomplishments. He has started to read and every time we talk to his teacher she tells us what a sweet boy he is. We're thankful for the opportunity he had to go to school and pray that he will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Phoenix was Fabulous

Bob and I had a most wonderful time in Phoenix! The long drive gave us lots of uninterrupted talk time which we don't usually get at home. :) Our highlights include: dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse...you know you have a good steak when you can cut it with a fork! YUMMY! A sunset trail ride in the mountains. A tour of Chase Field where the Arizona Diamondback play baseball, followed by a night game against the NY Mets. We even got fireworks after the game! FUN! Bob actually went to a second ball game with a buddy who is stationed there and I went outlet SHOPPING!!! LOVE IT! That night we ended up at a Dueling Piano Bar with aforementioned buddy and his wife. That was different and I was truly impressed with the skill of the performers! WOW. We finished our time there lounging around the pool and a final trip to Cold Stone! As I said...FABULOUS! We're so thankful to our wonderful friends who took such good care of the kiddos so we could have this time together! Thanks Friends!!!! You are ROCK STARS! and then some!!!!
