Opening Day...Let the games begin!

Today was opening day at Zia Little League. They had a nice little ceremony this morning where they march out about 45 little league teams from t-ball to juniors on a field. They bring in the Honor Guard, mounted police, police cars, college ball players and the Albuquerque Isotopes mascot, Orbit, to keep all the kids laughing. It was fun but cold! We were remembering that last year Bob wasn't home for this event, that made it feel a little more special. :)
Chloe was the only one with a game today. She is on the t-ball Diamonds team. It's all girls and they were pink shirts and have pink batting helmets...it's so FABULOUS for Chloe! This year at her first at bat she ran to first instead of third base. It's good to know that she has progressed in her knowledge of the game but not quite as cute...well, she's always cute, but you know what I mean.
So with the official kickoff of little league games the Beeks are in serious game mode. We'll be at games and practices most days of the week. It'll be nutty for the next few months. Actually now that I think about it, I don't think the nutty-ness will have an end. Little league goes until June 20 and we are planning on leaving here about June 26. YIKERS. It's all creeping up on me too quickly!!! I digress, anyway, if any Albuquerque folks ever need something to do with an evening there's a good chance one of the little Beeks will be on the field and we'd love to have company in the bleachers! :)
